July 22 - 28
Deuteronomy 16 - 22
Focus: Justice
Questions:
1. What does it mean when the Scriptures say, “Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue”? (Deuteronomy 16:20).
2. When conducting war, Israel was to abide by certain rules. What were these rules and how does each reflect God’s view of justice? For example, God commanded that no tree that bore fruit was to be cut down during war.

August 12 - 18
Joshua 3 - 9
Focus: Consecration
Questions:
1. Before Israel could begin their conquering of the land, God instructed Joshua to do something to consecrate Israel. Why was this action both symbolically important and spiritually important?
2. Among all the people of Israel, God was able to lead Joshua to discover a single family that had disobeyed His command to not salvage anything from the nations that were being destroyed. Who was responsible for Israel’s defeat? What did Israel have to do in order to be cleansed from his sin?

August 5 - 11
Deuteronomy 30 - Joshua 2
Focus: New Generation
Questions:
1. God predicted that the new generation of Israelites would turn away from God when they encounter false gods in the land of promise. What is mentioned as one of the reasons this would happen? What could Israel have done to prevent their falling away?
2. What did God instruct Joshua to do in order to be successful as Israel’s new leader (besides being strong and courageous)?

July 29 - August 4
Deuteronomy 23 - 29
Focus: Obedience and Disobedience
Questions:
1. Why do you think there was a curse attached to the sins mentioned in Deuteronomy 27?
2. What kind of results do obedience and disobedience yield according to what was spoken at Mount Gerizim?
