The world we live in is rapidly changing for the worse. Because of war? No. Because of famine? No. Because of disease? No. What is causing the rapid destruction of the peoples of the world is their increasingly stubborn and intentional rejection of God and His authority.

God as Creator is Rejected.

God created everything that exists. Now man attempts to do the same. Mankind has rejected God as Creator, attempting to create the world around them.

There are uncountable examples of how this has and is being done. A few examples will be exposed here, but there are quite too many to list all of them.

On Day 1 of creation, God created light and dark, separating the two and calling the light “day” and the dark “night.” As God created it, night was a time for sleep and rest, whereas during the day it was a time for work and cultivating. Now mankind tries to eliminate the need for sleep and self-inflicts the wound of overworking and restlessness. Diseases and health problems caused from improper rest are many. Instead of resting, the darkness of night is used to commit various kinds of sins, with the hopes that the light will not expose it as it would during the day. Night, a time that should be of peace and rest is now a time of anxiety, fear, and restlessness. On the other hand, daytime is now underused and laziness flourishes. The time that work should be done is now considered a “shift” in most work cultures and instead of being used for productive work, it is seen as the hour to appear busy and never really bring anything to fruition. This is because night time has also been allocated to work and no one was created to work all day and night long. In an effort to pursue more time to work, mankind has become less motivated to work and less productive in it. In mankind’s rebellion against what is good, they have given themselves many sorrows.

On Day 2 of creation, God created the separation of the expanse of waters in the sky and on the earth below. The heavens and the seas were created. Water, necessary for all life, that God has freely given, is now bought and sold as if men provide it. And in the same manner of greed, water that would be accessible to use and drink has been polluted so thoroughly that the only way to receive clean water is by buying it. Water has been poisoned by all manners of waste and neglect and the same people who continue to cause this problem are the same who tell everyone else they must now buy “clean” water from them. Mankind has poisoned the water, destroying what God has freely given, and then made themselves the “provider” by selling it once again. “Don’t drink!” mankind says, unless it is provided by them. In mankind’s destruction of what God has given, they force each other to labor for what was already given freely by God.

On Day 3 of creation, God created dry land and caused the earth to sprout vegetation, plants that yield seed after their own kind. Vegetation, provision for all God’s creation, yielded from the earth and reproduced itself from seeds. The seeds then reproduce the plant and provides a food resource that would continue to replace itself after consumption. Food produced from seed-bearing plants has now become altered in a manner God never intended. Food was meant to provide the nutrition and energy we need as living beings. But mankind did not want to be reliant on God to bring forth these plants for their provision.

Famines, a rare occasion, have been used by God to bring about repentance in His people. The land of Canaan was in a famine to bring Joseph’s family into Egypt (Genesis 42:1-5). Egypt suffered the plague of locusts destroying their crops because of Pharaoh’s rebellion against God (Exodus 10:4-5). The land of Israel suffered a famine because of turning away from obedience to God after they entered the land of promise (Judges 2:1-23; Ruth 1:1). God brought about a famine during the days of king David, because of Saul’s sins against the Gibeonites (2 Samuel 21:1-14). Just as king Solomon prayed, God would remove famine from the land when people turned to Him (1 Kings 8:37-40). But now mankind has engineered and altered plants in an attempt to avoid such judgments and stiffen their necks from repenting from sin. Instead of looking to God for answers, they sought to ignore Him completely and create a solution of their own. Now the world is polluted by genetically modified, cancerous foods, showered in poisonous pesticides that cause various kinds of diseases and illnesses everywhere they are eaten. And when evidence is given to show them that their “solution” is merely delaying the onset of consequences in other ways, they claim to be protecting the “greater good” and will point to famines and plagues spitefully with an unspoken hatred towards God for daring to bring judgment upon them. Then they proudly state they have “overcome” those historical disasters, when in reality, they have dulled their hearing to the voice of God and created problems far worse and widespread. Our bodies now behave abnormally, reacting to the distorted and toxic food that enters our bodies, creating cancers, ulcers, diseases and allergies that did not exist before in history. It is incredible how many excuses of evolution and other such myths mankind will create to shift the blame in order to excuse the consequences of their rebellion against God’s rule over them. They will create links in history to deceive themselves instead of looking at the obvious fact: that they created the problem that now plagues the world. God made plants perfectly suited for life and yet mankind spitefully twisted His creation so that they could try to avoid the judgment of God that comes upon the land when they sin.

On Day 4 of creation, God created the physical lights in the heavens to provide a sense of seasons and time for mankind. These are the sun, the moon, the stars and the distant planets. The sun shows mankind the day and the moon, stars, and planets, the night time. Their positions distinguish time that has passed on earth and allow us to count and mark times and days. This also mankind has distorted and sought to control. Instead of seeing God’s glory in the magnificence of this creation, mankind has turned to self-deceptive fables of gods in the sky (Deuteronomy 4:19), aliens, life on other planets, and many other meaningless speculations that deceive their mind to no end (Isaiah 47:10-13). Instead of keeping God’s appointed times and remembering what He has made holy, mankind creates their own self-serving holidays, even their own sabbaths, forsaking what God has taught in the Bible. God has set apart times for us to remember and rewards those who keep them (Isaiah 58:13-14). Those who keep God’s appointed times are mocked as “antiquated” and “legalistic.” Since when has sincere effort to obey God ever been legalistic? And yet any effort to obey God by His people will always be mocked. The sorrowful part of which is when those whose love is tied close to the world, yet call themselves believers, are the ones doing the mocking and jeering. Should not they be exposing and shunning the distortions of mankind instead? Mankind even seeks to claim that they created time and a multitude of ridiculous reasons are given, such as to sell watches. Absurdity after absurdity. God created time when He spoke creation into existence and He has given us the lights in the heavens to help remember times and seasons that are important to Him. Mankind has totally distorted this for self-serving pleasure and deception. Mankind wants to excuse themselves from remembering what God has spoken about times and seasons, so they have created distractions and speculations to conceal their guilt. Whether by creating their own holidays to remember instead or by distracting themselves into idolatry by speculating about life beyond earth, as if God ever meant us to leave the world that He created “good” and perfect for us.

"This world has perverted every aspect of God’s creation."

On Day 5 of creation, God created the birds that fly in the earth and the fish in the sea. Mankind has corrupted these by altering their bodies permanently and then destroying whole populations of unaltered fish and birds. Yes, mankind has arrogantly sought to make fish and birds “better” by modifying the genetic makeup that God gave them into something unnatural and distorted. In the name of “improvement,” mankind always takes away from the good that God has created.

In another manner, both have also become the object of idolatry and meaningless myths. Birds are idolized and then used religiously for selfish ambition, such as the phoenix myth. This one example is used for many people to deny the reality of salvation through God and rather to seek salvation through self-realization or “overcoming” the consequences of sin through willpower. Sea creatures are also imaginatively distorted into myths that imagine “immortal” sea creatures or half-human fish that have no place in reality of God’s creation and mock the perfection of what God has made. These myths and idolatries are not neutral, they lead to a perverse way of thinking about God’s creation and defy the truth of God as Creator because He has not created such things. Mankind creates these myths and thinks of them as “better” than reality and more “creative” that what God has already created. These myths raise up mankind’s self-deception above God’s eternal truth. Mankind thinks of a “better idea” and mocks God in doing so.

On Day 6 of creation, God created all the creatures that live on land. These, like the birds and sea creatures are treated no differently by mankind. Like the plants, mankind seeks to alter their genetic material to create a “better” creation. Like the birds and sea creatures, they are idolized (ex. cows in Hinduism) and myths are created (ex. neanderthal, bigfoot, chupacabra, etc.) that have no connection with God’s creation. Aside from land animals, mankind has also distorted the peak of creation, mankind in so many ways that it is almost uncountable.

And most recently in history, mankind has and is attempting to not only distort mankind, but create (literally) a “better” mankind; truly a false salvation and death sentence for those who seek it. This comes in various forms such as transgenderism, DNA editing (CRISPR), and transhumanism (techno-biological fusion; ex. AI). Unsatisfied with the limitations that God has placed on our human bodies, mankind wants to become limitless and outright deny the immovable truth of God’s creation. What God has established permanently, no one can change. But mankind persistently seeks to change these limitations because their sinful mind sees these limitations as “bad” and not good as God created them. When God saw all that He had made, He called it “very good” (Genesis 1:31). But mankind arrogantly and spitefully seeks always to deny God as Creator and make creation “better” to their own desires.

All that mankind has done to deny their Creator has taken an already sinful world and added to it even more depravity, suffering, and evil.

What Shall We Do?

This world has perverted every aspect of God’s creation and rejected Him as their Creator. So, what do we do?

We must acknowledge and live in a manner that sees God alone as Creator. Wherever the world seeks to replace God as Creator, we are to acknowledge God as Creator and respect His creation, not seeking to distort it or arrogantly “make it better” than what God has already made very good. We can make daily decisions to reject those things which the world has created in rebellion against God and refuse to align our minds and actions with things that are contrary to God. This often means taking very practical and meaningful actions as well as changing the way we view God’s creation as it relates to Him and His will. The world operates very intentionally against God and His creation. We need to live intentionally for God and acknowledge Him as Creator whenever we interact with what He has created.

What have you overlooked in your life and the environment you live in that dishonors God as Creator? Shouldn’t you seek His glory in all things and remove the things that mock Him?
